چکیده

Introduction: Ventricular remodeling is the process by which ventricular size, shape and function are regulated by mechanical, neurohormonal and genetic factors.1 Remodeling may be physiological and adaptive during normal growth or pathological due to acute myocardial infraction (AMI), cardiomyopathy, hypertension or valvular heat disease. This article will re view left ventricular (LV) remodeling after acute myocardial infraction, pathophysiological mechanisms and therapeutic interventions.

Influence of infarct healing on left ventricular remodeling in patients with acute st-segment elevation myocardial infarction

Background Infarct healing is a complex process consisting in replacement of necrotic tissue with fibrotic scar. Animal studies indicate that this process is highly anisotropic showing different patterns, which may ultimately influence left ventricular (LV) remodeling. Study aim: to investigate the influence of infarct healing on post-infarction LV remodeling in patients with acute ST-segment e...

[Left ventricular remodeling after myocardial infarction].

Left ventricular remodeling describes a number of geometric and structural changes that the left ventricle undergoes after myocardial infarction. Briefly, it comprises expansion of the infarct and dilatation of the healthy left ventricular segments. Its severity is related to the infarct size. These changes in ventricular geometry, in particular the dilatation, influence the long-term incidence...

The Effect of Cardiac Rehabilitation on Left Ventricular Remodeling in Men and Women Patients with Coronary Artery Disease

Objective: Left ventricular (LV) remodeling is associated with increased morbidity and mortality therefore, interventions that halt or reverse ventricular remodeling are expected to prevent these clinical outcomes. The aim of the study was to assess the effects of cardiac rehabilitation program on cardiac remodeling process in patients with coronary artery disease and then compare the results b...

Pharmacologic immunomodulation via adenosine 2a receptor stimulation improves LV remodeling and systolic strain in regions adjacent to the infarct as assessed by cardiac MRI

Background Agonists of the Adenosine 2a Receptor (A2aR) are used clinically for perfusion imaging, but they are also potent immunomodulators that reduce infarct size in animal models when administered at reperfusion. The long term effects of sustained A2aR agonist administration initiated after myocardial infarction (MI) are largely unexplored. We hypothesized that sustained administration of a...

Left ventricular remodeling after reperfused acute myocardial infarction: insights from automated ECV mapping

Background In reperfused acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), infarct size and microvascular obstruction (MVO) are strong predictors of adverse LV remodeling and poor outcome. However, the role of remote myocardium is less clear. Remote native T1 changes have been linked with adverse LV remodeling and is thought to be associated with inflammation. We used automated ECV mapp...
